The hymns represent for many, a basis for a testimony, the initial whispers of the spirit after a prolonged silence or other good memories. Please post your testimonies, conversion stories from hymns or other humorous experiences with the hymns.
For instance, one time I was driving down the main street in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and I heard some bagpipe music and it sounded like the hymn, Praise to the Man. I mentioned it to the other passengers in my dad's car, and they said unh-uhhh! Especially my wife, the most musically astute person in the car, didn't think it was that song. So I said, "I bet that when we get home and look up the song in the hymnbook, it says at the bottom, Scottish Folk Tune, or something like that. Well the next day, I was outside walking by an open window, and I heard some slight giggles and someone say, "let's not tell Brent". So after surmising what they might be talking about, I went inside and "casually" made a beeline for the hymnbook. I opened it up to the right page and low and behold - I was right. I immediately chastised them for trying to keep it a secret. I have had fun with it ever since.
